Happy Birthday Connor!

Connor turned four today. He had a Kung Fu Panda party. Here are a few things about our wonderful little four year old........
  • He is so smart!
  • He can spell and write his name. He can also spell Chloee's name.
  • He has known and recognized his numbers for quite a while now. He has his dad's and several of his grandparents phone numbers memorized and he calls them on a regular basis.
  • He knows and can recite all the days of the week.
  • He recognizes and can write probably half of the alphabet.
  • He loves anything to do with Toy Story.
  • He says the most beautiful prayers.
  • He loves to volunteer in Primary and bear his testimony in Sacrament meeting.
  • His favorite show is Phineas and Ferb on the Disney channel.
  • He is so thoughtful to his sister (most of the time)
  • He has a huge imagination. He plays very imaginatively with his toys. His toy cars are always going on some kind of adventure.
  • His favorite game is Candy Land. He played it at grandma's before he got his own for his birthday. We play it about 30 times a day.
  • He loves turkey sandwiches, strawberries, rice and beans, and anything chocolate.
  • He loves to play with his friend Alec from school.
  • He is always singing. At preschool he is the only one that can hear a song one or two times and pretty much have it memorized. He loves to sing, dance, and play music.
  • He remembers everything. He remembers things that I don't even remember from a year or two ago. Luke and I can't even have a conversation without him bringing it up later. Luke was telling me about a homeless guy that he helped in Las Vegas. I didn't think Connor was even listening. A few days later he said "Dad, tell me about that guy that didn't have a house or food." It took us a minute to know what he was even talking about.
  • He likes to watch wrestling and wrestle with his dad.
  • He is a movie junkie. He loves the classics. Tom and Jerry, Care Bears, and Land Before Time.
  • He loves his family so much and he tells us everyday. We love him and we are so lucky to have him as our little boy!

Orlando Trip

About six months ago we got a phone call from the Hilton Grand Vacations Club in Orlando Florida. They wanted us to go on a vacation and stay at their brand new resort basically for free. All we had to do was participate in a two hour tour and sales presentation. For some crazy reason we agreed. We bought our plane tickets, our rental car, and pretty much everything we needed. We planned it for January because we figured that would be the best time for Luke to get away from work. We stayed for a week and had the time of our lives. It was so much fun. the kids did a great job flying. The resort was amazing. It was a little cold while we were there but we managed. The kids loved Disneyworld. They loved to meet the characters and get their books signed. They also loved the beach. We probably could have spent the whole week at the beach looking for shells and playing in the sand. We can't wait to go back some day!

I took over nine hundred pictures during our trip. Here are a few scrapbook pages that I have done and some random pictures. I will post some more pictures when I get them a little more organized.

Our Little Sunbeam

Our little boy is now in primary. This is a picture of his first day in Sunbeams. He looked so handsome in his new suit and tie. His teachers say that he volunteers for everything. He definitely isn't shy. On fast Sunday he wanted to go up and bear his testimony. I went up and helped him. He did a great job. Half way through his testimony he reached over, grabbed a tissue, and dabbed his eyes. Everyone laughed. I guess he thought that is just what you do when you bear your testimony. I bore mine after him. He was sitting by the 2nd counselor of the bishopric. I got a little choked up. He got out of his seat and grabbed me by the hand. Then he said "mom ,it's okay.... don't be nervous..... it's okay." He is such a good boy. He says the most beautiful and thoughtful prayers. We sure do love our little Sunbeam!!

Christmas 2008

We had a wonderful Christmas. We celebrated Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa Robinson's. We had a birthday cake for Jesus and the kids opened presents from their cousins. The kids slept in until about 10am Christmas morning. They were very pleased with what Santa brought them. We spent alot of time with Luke's family and made alot of good memories. I was able to take the kids up to Grandma and Grandpa Hyde's the week after Christmas. Connor and Chloee had so much fun and were totally spoiled all over again.

Busy, Busy, Busy....

This is definately our busiest time of the year! Here is a little bit of what we have been up to.
We had a great Thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpa Robinson's house and then we were able to see Grandma and Grandpa Hyde the weekend after Thanksgiving. Good Times!

Connor and his class had a Thanksgiving feast at preschool. They wore their pilgrim and indian hats that they made.

At the beginning of December we went up to Salt Lake for the Festival of Trees. Luke's brother Wes has been building playhouses to donate for the past 5 years. It is such a great tradition. The kids were both very anxious to see Santa, especially Connor. He did not care about anything else except talking to Santa. He told Santa that he had been a good boy and that he would like a drum set, a Buzz Lightyear, and a Woody pullstring doll. Chloee pretty much just sat there. (At least she didn't cry like I thought she might.) Connor told Santa that Chloee would like an Elmo and a baby doll. Santa told them to be good and help mom. He told them that if they didn't get everything they wanted, to look for a suprise on Christmas day. I am pretty sure they are getting what they want though! We are very excited for Christmas day!

This is what waiting very, very anxoiusly looks like. I pretty much had to hold them back until it was their turn.

This is Connor with his uncle Wes and the playhouse that he built this year!

We also went to temple square to see the lights and went on a carriage ride.

Connor has a really good preschool teacher. They do so many fun things. For the Christmas party they made little gingerbread houses out of milk cartons, they did a gift exchange, they pinned the nose on the snowman, they made little reindeer out of their feet and hand prints, and Santa even came to visit. She also taught them some cute songs that they sang for all the moms.
This is a video clip of two of the songs that they sang for us.

The kids had alot of fun putting together this gingerbread house. They definately ate as much candy and frosting as they put on the house! I was looking at it afterwards and half of the candies looked as though they had already been tasted. Very funny!
Luckily we got some snow this past week. Connor has been dying to build a snowman and have a snowball fight with his dad. He was able to do plenty of both! We love this time of year. It is so great to look back at the past year and remember all the wonderful experiences. We have SO much to be grateful for. Especially all of our wonderful friends and family. We love you all and hope that you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Disney On Ice!

We went to the 100 years of magic Disney On Ice show today at the energy solutions arena in Salt Lake City. It was really cute. We really enjoyed it. We went with Grandma and Grandpa Hyde, Alden , Britney, Joe, Tyson, my sister in-law Christina, and her kids. Chloee liked Nemo the best and Connor liked Buzz and Woody. Chloee loved clapping and despite Connor not feeling well and throwing up twice he had fun too. We bought Connor a woody cowboy hat and a Buzz Lightyear sword. Chloee got a snow white princess doll. We love Disney On Ice and we can't wait until it comes to town next year!
